Each of the soaps the Abbey offers is made with a specific purpose in mind. Essential oils can be antiseptic, antiviral, and anti-fungal. They can calm itching as well as calming anxiety. Take time to inhale the essences as you bathe, as true essential oils are soothing to the membranes and the odor molecules are transmitted to the limbic system deep within the brain. Handmade soaps are an indulgence that benefit both your body and your soul; the gift that you give to yourself. Simple in appearance, these dry skin demons enhance your mental well being as they clean your skin. The Abbey chooses soap makers who put love and care into their product. The bars are made with a base of olive oil, a powerful antioxidant and superior moisturizer. High in Vitamin E, olive oil is used to combat the effects of aging and retain moisture in the skin. Shea butter restores skin suppleness and improves the appearance of irritated, dry skin. Castor oil is high in glycerin esters that penetrate the skin easily, leaving it soft and supple.
