Beauty, after all, doesn't come from covering up. It arises first from within, and it's kindled by inner health and wellness. Abbey St. Clare's creams, serums, elixirs, and waters can help you look and feel wonderful with little time and effort, and without resorting to costly treatments and procedures. You'll spend just minutes in front of the mirror and have hours left over for your rose garden, your golf swing, a long walk with the dog, that afternoon in the park with the children or grandchildren.

The Abbey offers you a promise and a prayer: We will make you look and feel your best ... and leave the rest to Heaven.

Margaret Hardy established Harrington House and Abbey St. Clare in 2002. With a B.S. in chemistry and biology, and an M.S. in microbiology, an initial career in laboratory medicine eventually evolved into a second career in education teaching science to middle school students for almost twenty years. Still in the classroom, she has numerous listings in America’s Who’s Who, including American Women, Outstanding Women of the Eighties, Outstanding Educators and Outstanding Southern Educators, and has been a recipient of the Science Teacher of the Year for the State of Virginia Award given by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools.

Abbey St. Clare is dedicated to the memory of Brother Thomas, OFM, Cap., Margaret’s uncle, who was a Franciscan friar for fifty years before passing away in 2002. His unselfish dedication to a life of prayer and service to others is a daily source of inspiration. Brother Thomas had special compassion for those who came to request food at the door of the friary. To honor his memory, Harrington House tithes all proceeds to support programs to feed the hungry sponsored by the Franciscans, as well as providing personal care products to a local food bank for distribution to individuals, the DOVES shelter, and homeless shelters.
